Hey, decent news what what. We’re doing a gig supporting Shed Seven in Manchester!
York’s favourite sons selected us to do the Academy with them on Friday 9th December…the bad news, it’s already sold out! But enjoy this video below…
This is a bit of a treat for us, we’re all fans of the band and with our York heritage it’s really awesome to be involved in their tour. Pinch yourself moment…
We’re back in Norich this weekend, playing the epic studios which is where the Wright Stuff is filmed I’m told. Pretty surreal, but apparently it’s a venue too…should be interesting. Get tickets HERE for a mere £5. And check out the all sorted twitter account for many a deal/free ticket or such like…you can catch up with them HERE.
The new video for Call to Harm (released next week) is finally here!
Many thanks to Andy Little for directing, Robert Myles for starring and Craig Goode for help with post production. Neil was producer of this. Well done him!
Thank you to all who came to our Leeds gig, it was nice to see such a crowd of revellers on a Wednesday night, and the collective musicians (Harry/Afghan Hounds/Blanche Hudson Weekend) did you all proud as did the guest DJs ‘To and Fro’ (some great Whitesnake played in pack down. Emotional band scenes as we took apart the drum kit).
We’ve just been added to the Negative Narrative site. This is an interview of a different kind, we gave our answers purely in photos we had taken. I don’t think the band have had this much fun with an interview ever so we’re delighted to be asked to do this. If you click on the link below there is much to be seen…also click on “read more” under our profile picture that involves a bear and you can get a sneak preview of a moving image we’ve been working on. Sly.
More gig news, bit annoying this but the promoter at the Glasgow gig 12th November was not responding to our agent so we had to pull the gig, we hope to be back oop north soon.
In better news, we’re coming to Birmingham in November and Peterborough during the Kaiser Chiefs tour…see the gigs on the right hand pane for info!
Not actually a bake sale as the title suggests but a Vinyl sale. I just used that title to draw you in. Top web marketeer me.
I was speaking with Ben the label honcho from Front Wall Records in Manchester who released our first single “No Friend of Mine/Young Defeatists” and among many things we discussed the rise in energy prices, and the recently projected rise in poverty levels. This is a serious thing, so we decided rather than be defensive we’re going to move with the markets, give something back like when Jessie J retweets a fan…we are so noble…we are to lower the price of the Vinyl!
…I KNOW!
So here it is in picture form to entice you:
That’s a real person, that’s not us holding it as well. I just found it on the internet so we’re clearly famous or something.
Anyway, this is now going to be available to buy for £3 either at gigs or from http://music.clubsmith.co.uk and you will get a free download code to download it too.
The downloads cost about £1.50 from itunes and amazon and what not so for a further £1.50 you get the downloads and the vinyl, which is rather sparkly and in limited supply. That is like WICK.
We’re putting together some album tracks and going into the white rooms in York to live demo them…you can hear some of that in the background here whilst Neil and Vijay play with a peg. Yes a peg:
The London gig 19th October at Death Disco (Notting Hill Arts Club) is not happening! There was some kind of awful mix-up which meant we were omitted from the lineup. We’re suitably disturbed by this incident and hope to book a replacement gig in the big smoke. Sorry to anyone planning to come, fortunately it was free entry so no ticket returns issues…
GOOD NEWS!!!
We got a video for our b-side done by our good buddie Steven Carter…see it below!
