New picture? Taken by the resoundly sound guy Andrew Benge, for counterfeit magazine who interviewed us a while back – click on the pic to read the interview.

We should have posted it a while ago, but it tells you more about what we’ve been up to…we’ve been up to some new mixes  - this time on The Green Room, with Dave Bascombe and Lance Thomas.  A couple of uber producers.  I don’t mean they are German.

We’ve also signed to Sentric / Tri-Tone / Strictly Confidential for publishing which is really cool.  Sentric are a great company to work with and we’re lucky to share an international publishing stable with Editors, Vitalic, Goose, Andy Burrows, Tall Ships and Carl Barat amongst others, which is kinda coooool.

So here’s that new mix, whilst you’re listening we ought to write a new album? Ok…

New Club Smith Video – Beautiful & Useless

Hi – you wait ages for one video then two come along at the same (almost) time…

Here’s a video for our new mix of Beautiful & Useless.  You can get that new mix here from 1st April (uh-oh) and you can get the whole album for not very much RIGHT NOW – see the right hand panel on this site or go to “Buy” page…we’ve update the links to the cheapest places you can get them…

New Video – Lament (Live)

Here it is! The official video for Lament…the first single from the Album “Appetite for Chivalry” (which you can buy below on limited run before it hits the shops in November).

We recorded it live at Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds, an Edwardian Cinema.  Featured in the video are a bunch of other musicians we got in to make the recording an interesting thing with new parts and epic dynamics and what not. We’d be honoured if you shared the video with others…

Pictures – Plymouth

Jeez, that Marcus Collins cover of 7 nation army? Surely the worst thing created since chemical warfare?   Anyway, on tour our friend Pearl was taking pictures of Kaiser Chiefs and we asked her on stage on the last gig in Plymouth…here are the results!

See more of Pearl’s photos HERE  – they are ace.

A few people filmed parts of our set too…this one below is pretty good, a bit shaky at first but levels out…

Norwich Gig / Diy

Hey,

Thisisfakediy.co.uk have premièred our new video HERE.  Nice!

We’re back in Norich this weekend, playing the epic studios which is where the Wright Stuff is filmed I’m told. Pretty surreal, but apparently it’s a venue too…should be interesting. Get tickets HERE for a mere £5.  And check out the all sorted twitter account for many a deal/free ticket or such like…you can catch up with them HERE.

London Gig Cancelled /// New video

BAD NEWS!

The London gig 19th October at Death Disco (Notting Hill Arts Club) is not happening! There was some kind of awful mix-up which meant we were omitted from the lineup.  We’re suitably disturbed by this incident and hope to book a replacement gig in the big smoke.  Sorry to anyone planning to come, fortunately it was free entry so no ticket returns issues…

GOOD NEWS!!!

We got a video for our b-side done by our good buddie Steven Carter…see it below!

Video – the making of…

So hopefully you’ve seen our video (post below)…and if you have and have re-posted the link to your facebook status or twitter or web page or whatever then Thanks!  If you haven’t yet done that…please do!

Some people may be wondering how it was all done, so now it is time to show how the rabbit got in the hat, to let the cat out the bag, to give the dog a bone. That last household pet related phrase didn’t work but never mind…

One of the Directors (Danny) has put up a blog with a video of the making of the video…this may explain why Lee had such a small part, it wasn’t because he was lazy…it was far from it, he in fact had a pivotal role and did all the intensive training too…

Anyway, over to Danny…
